Abydos & Dendera temples

 Pick up from you hotel in Luxor at 8am.

We will be traveling north for around 1.5h to Dendera. Our guide will inform you about the magnificent temple complex, highlights such as the Temple of Hathor, the two birth houses, the Coptic Basilica, the sanitarium, and the sacred lake. Dendera’ was very important throughout the Greek, Ptolemy and Roman periods. 

We make a stop for lunch (own expense), before we continue to Abydos to discover the ancient center of the Cult of Osiris, as the ancient Egyptian believed that the God of the underworld was buried here. Uncover the myths and legends of the Old Kingdom as you make your way around the Temple of Seti I, the Osireion, and the Gallery of Kings.

The temple which was built by King Seti I, and completed by King Ramsess II. The paintings of the Gods and Pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.
